Eccoci a Roma / Here we are in Rome

Finalmente eccoci in Italia, il viaggio e' andato bene e per le prime due settimane ci siamo dedicati a risolvere tutte le cose burocratiche che servono per metterci in regola qui in Italia e nel tempo libero abbiamo cercato di scoprire la citta' accompagnati dai miei genitori e anche da soli (dopo che loro sono ripartiti per la Sardegna)

Finally we are in Italy, the journey went well and for the first two weeks we dedicated the time to solve all the bureaucracy to be legally in Italy. In the free time we tried to visit the city with my parents for the first week then by ourselves.

Japanese friend in KL

Fumiyo our friend and our Japanese "granma" is in KL with us for two weeks. We took her out for some meals and she loved all the food.

One day she cooked at home cos of course she misses her Japanese food.

She prepared some steamed rice with vegetables (carrots, bamboo, green beans, etc.), miso soup (white), then we had zessai (chinese starter we used to have in Japan at the Chinese rest.) and daicon. Everything was very nice :-)

Fumiyo la nostra amica e nonnina giapponese e' in vacanza da noi per 2 settimane. L'abbiamo portata a mangiare fuori e le e' piaciuto tutto, ma una sera ha cucinato lei cibo giapponese, perche' ovviamente ne sentiva la mancanza.

Ha preparato riso al vapore con verdure (carote, bambu, fagiolini, ecc), zuppa di miso (bianca) poi avevamo come antipasto una verdura di cui non so il nome ma che mangiavamo sempre come antipasto in un ristorante cinese a Tokyo a Mitsukoshi e poi daicon.

Tutto era buono :-)

Penne vodka, salsiccia fresca e panna

Thanks to our friend Max from Lanciano :-) (Abruzzo, Italy) we made a great dish for our dinner. Max made up this dish and I used to enjoy it in university days.

The pasta is quiet simple to make.

Ingredients for 2 people:

3 fresh sausages

olive oil

1 clove of garlic

1 glass vodka

1 tsp tomato paste

200ml cream

160 gr. penne lisce

Procedure:

Heat up the oil and add the garlic, let it get gold and then remove. Add then the sausage already skinless and reduced in small bits. Saute' 1 minute then add the vodka and flambe' well till the sausage is well done. Then add the tsp of tomato paste and the cream and let it cook for 1 or 2 minutes.

Meanwhile the pasta was cooking, drain it, add to the sauce, stir well and serve with Parmesan cheese.

Enjoy your meal :-)

Grazie al nostro amico Max che durante l'universita' mi ha dato la possibilita' di provare uno dei suoi piatti che lo distinguono come

"bravo chef", ho deciso di riprodurre quel piatto per la nostra cena qui in Malesia. Questo piatto e' abbastanza semplice da preparare.

Ingredienti:

3 salsicce fresche

olio extra vergine d'oliva

1 spicchio d'aglio

1 bicchiere di vodka

1 cucchiaino di concentrato di pomodoro

200 ml panna da cucina

160gr penne lisce

Procedimento:

Mettere a scaldare l'olio in una padella, aggiungerci l'aglio e farlo dorare, dopodiche' lo t

ogliete e vi aggiungete la salsiccia sbucciata in precedenza e ridotta a pezzetti. Fate rosolare la salsiccia per un minuto e poi aggiungere il bicchiere di vodka e flambe' il tutto sino a quando la salsiccia e' ben

cotta (cercate di tenere la fiamma accesa). Quando la salsiccia e' cotta aggiungere il concentrato e la panna e cuocere per 1 o 2 minuti.

The adventure of the little TOAD

In June we went to Langkawi with my mother in law and Lesley. We staid there for 3-4 days and of course we staid at Pondok keladi an amazing place where in the night the only thing you can hear are the frogs singing.

We left Langkawi on a Thursday morning with the 9.35 am flight. We got home for lunch time and when Nigel took out his shoes from the bag he found inside a little toad who came for free from Langkawi. We tried to put some water on her to Hydrate it and we left it on the garden.

After few week here it is again on Nigel kung fu shoe, we took it out cos he needed the shoe and let it go in the garden again. It was a rainy day.

One Friday evening as usual Nigel left at 7pm to go to kung fu with his motorbike. First he was meeting his friend in a Chinese restaurant for dinner. When he open his rucksack he found the toad inside his shoe again and he had to keep it in. the he went to kung fu with it and after the lesson they came back home together again. We think the toad loves to travel cos it has been on a plane, on a car and on a motorbike :-)

Few days ago we saw a tiny toad jumping near our gate and we think our toad has found a friend :-)

Melacca with friends

Last Friday we went to Melacca with our friends Duncan and Lina. We drove there and it took about 2 hours. The weather was beautiful and hot. We got there at 12.30pm, we check in in the "Equatorial hotel" then we went for our first babanyonya lunch. We went in a restaurant called "Banyonya" and we had : chicken rendang, sambal chicken, squid in tamarind sauce, kang kong and cendol for dessert.Very very good meal!!

Then after lunch we walked around the town for hours under an hot sun.

For dinner we went to a restaurant called "Ole Sayang" that means "Gift of Love". Here we had an amazing dinner, the restaurant was full, we had to walk around for 1 hour and then go back for a table. We had again rendang chicken , sambal aubergines, kang kong, fried fish and rice pudding for dessert.We had a good time and we enjoyed Melacca and the food.

Lo scorso venerdi' siamo andati a Melacca con una coppia di amici Duncan e Lina. Siamo andati in macchina e ci vogliono circa 2 ore da KL. Siamo arrivati li' alle 12.30 circa, abbiamo fatto il check in all'"hotel equatorial" e poi siamo andati a pranzo in uno dei ristoranti che la receptionist ci ha suggerito. "Banyonya", abbiamo mangiato cibo locale come pollo rendang, pollo sambal, spinaci cinesi e seppie con salsa al tamarindoe cendol come dessert (ghiaccio tritato con fagioli rossi, sciroppo di zucchero nero.

Dopo pranzo abbiamo girovagato per la citta' sotto un sole cocente.

Per cena siamo stati in un ristorante chiamato "Ole sayang" che significa "dono d'amore" e qui anche abbiamo mangiato benissimo. Il ristorante era pienissimo quindi abbiamo dovuto aspettare circa un'ora per un tavolo. Anche qui abbiamo mangiato chicken rendang, pesce fritto, melanzane con sambal, kang kong, and budino di riso per dessert.

Senza dubbio abbiamo passato due belle giornate a Melacca e abbiamo mangiato benissimo.

Merdeka a Port Dickson

31 of August here in Malysia is "Merdeka day" so we decided to go to Port Dickson. Was the first time there, it took 1 hour by car.

We visited "Blue Lagoon", very nice and peaceful, the water was very shallow and there were lots of tiny crabs.

The best part of the day in PD was the lunch. We had an amazing chilly crab, western style buttered prawns and kang kong. I definitely recommend this place and we will be back there again soon.

Il 31 agosto qui in Malesia e' "merdeka" il giorno dell'indipendenza quindi abbiamo deciso di andare a Port Dickson a un'ora di macchina da qui, e' un posto sul mare, un porto.

Abbiamo visitato "blue lagoon", molto carino e tranquillo. La marea era bassissima e c'erano milioni di granchietti.

La parte piu' bella della giornata e' stato il pranzo, abbiamo mangiato granchi al peperoncino, gamberoni e spinaci cinesi.Raccomandiamo questo ristorante e sicuramente ci torneremo presto.

the pondok Gio and Nigel

Sunday we went for a picnic in a place called Hulu Langat. It's not far from KL, maybe 30 minutes drive. It's next to a river. We went with some friends, they have a beautiful 10 months old baby.

We rented a "pondok" for 10 ringgit a day, it' basically a wooden bungalow on stilt and has just one room and a balcony. We spend our day on the balcony watching the people having fun in the water.We had a lovely meal: duck and pork.

Domenica siamo andati a fare un pic nic in un posto chiamato Hulu Langat. Non e' lontano da KL, forse 30 minuti in macchina. Si trova lungo un fiume. Siamo andati con degli amici che hanno una bellissima bambina di 10 mesi. Abbiamo affittato un "Pondok" che non e' altro che un bungalows fatto a palafitta con una sola stanza e un balcone. Noi abbiamo passato la giornata nel balcone e abbiamo mangiato del buonissimo cibo locale: anatra e maiale.

Shin Chan Ramen

We had a crazy craving for shoyu ramen last week, so I txt my Japanese friend for a good place where we could enjoy a good ramen good as in Japan or almost. She suggested us Shin Chan Ramen in Solaris Mont Kiara. It is a small restaurant, nice and modern design. We had deep fried shitake mushrooms, gyoza and of course two shoyu ramen. Everything was very good. Exceeded my expectations!!

Pesto alla genovese

Today I decided to prepare a fresh "Pesto alla genovese".

The ingredients are:

40 leaves of fresh basil

1TBSP Parmesan cheese

1 TBSP pecorino cheese

3 TBSP extra virgin olive oil

1 tsp pine nuts

1 clove garlic

salt

Procedure:

Clean the leaves with a cotton towel. Put in a mixer or blender with the garlic, pine nuts and the salt (this keeps the green color of the leaves). Mix all for 1 minute then add the cheese and one spoon of extra virgin olive oil. Mix again for few minutes and slowly add the rest of the oil.

Now your fresh "Pesto alla genovese is ready. I suggest to cook it with Linguine pasta.

Today for dinner I tried one of the recipes from "Reggae Reggae cookbook". I couldn't use all the ingredients from the recipe cos I didn't have them so I put some of my creativity and it came out a great dish. My husband said "It's like Mom's cooking"

28 June 2009: 1st wedding anniversary

Already 1 year married. Seems yesterday that we had that great party in Sardinia! It was a wonderful sunny day, all our dear friends were there with us and our family.

Everybody had fun, especially us!

To celebrate we went out for dinner even if Nigel was very tired from a long day at work. We had dinner in a Thai restaurant in Bangsar, "JIM's". It was OK, not great. Hopefully in August we go for few days to BKK and then we can have better food.

Celebrate our anniversary is nice, but everyday actually is a celebration of our life together.

LUNCH WITH LINA

Yesterday I invited my friend Lina over for lunch so we could have "una bella chiaccherata" and I decided to make a light lunch using my new "Ottolenghi cooking book".

I worked in Ottolenghi in Notting hill www.ottolenghi.co.uk for one year and I loved the salads. The chefs Sami and Yottam are great chefs and sometimes I miss their food. So now it's finally out their cooking book and my mother in law gave it to me as a present and I am looking forward to try many more recipes. Today I prepared "chargrilled broccoli with chilli and garlic"and "Mangetout with hazelnut and orange". With the Ottolenghi cooking book, my mother in law also gave me a Jamaica cooking book "Reggae reggae cookbook" by Levi Roots', so I can keep the family tradition. Next time I will try some great Jamaicanfood and I will post here the result.

HOME MADE PIZZA

Tired of trying all the Italian restaurants in KL to find a good pizza, I decided to try and make it at home, following the direction of my friend from Napoli, Lina.

The result was great, Nigel loved it and now I think I can make it again and again:-)

My parents came to KL for the second time. Unfortunately we were just back from 2 holidays: Langkawi and Tioman, so Nigel didn't have any more free time.

Because my dad is a chef I decided to take him around KL wet markets. We visited Chow Kit, Bangsar morning market and the pasar melan on Sundays.

They loved them, I don't really like Chow Kit, actually I hate going there cos the men are so annoying with their continues stupid comments.

My parents loved to stay with us, visiting the markets, trying new food (including durian and sea coconut) and eating out everyday in a different restaurant or makan.

Pulau Tioman

In the end of March we

went to Pulau

Tioman. We drove with our Fiat Punto GT till Mersin (around

3hours driving from KL), then we

catched the ferry to Tioman, 2 more hours journey but with a beautiful view.

We reached Tioman around 2pm, we staid at "Panuba Inn". The place was ok, the view was stunning and I love to wake up in the morning and watch the sea still sleeping and smell the salty air and enjoy the calm. Tioman is a paradise, the sea is amazing, clear water, clored fished, amazing corals. We enjoied snorkelling, but we don't dive so after 3 days of snorkelling and reading we decided to leave after 5 days.

Unfortunatly and fortunatly the island is untouched, still developing so we actually couldn't go anywhere then our resort, to go to the near beach we had to walk 15min in the jungle and not so easy walk. The food wasn't good, we had different dishes but the all tasted same.

So again we can say, Tioman is a beautiful island, romantic , relaxing, good for diving but boring after 4-5 days.

long long time

We have been busy recently so I didn't update the blog.

In the last 4 months we had different members of the family over here.

In March as I mentioned before we had Roberta e Clara, my sisters. They staid here 2 weeks and together we went to Langkawi where we had a great time, again we staid at "Pondok Keladi" with our dear friends Dee and Marc.

My sisters loved the sun and the idea of being on the beach on March while in Italy was freezing cold.

We also went for island hopping and we visited a pesar malan, very interesting.

We had a fantastic meal in a chinese restaurant on the same street of Frangipani, I don't remember the name now but it's got big round tables and some strange lanterns in shape of butterfly, fish, etc. The praws in the bamboo were divine!!!

Today I spent time in the kitchen preparing some cakes for my husband. In fact the apple pies are intended to be a present for my neighbours but first I wait for my husband to come back and taste them, then we will decide.

The "crostata di mele" is for the family and I had already one slice, it taste good :-)

the new house

I have been busy moving to the new house. Still lots to do, but definetly life is changed. Poldo is happier, he learned how to bark and I think he's the loudest dog in the area :-/

The house is big, too big for us, luckly our family is coming over to visit us. Next week my sisters Roberta e Clara are coming, they are going to stay with us 12 days and together we are going for a long week end in Langkawi........looking forward to it.

After then in April we are going to have my parents, Elia e Pietrina. They are going to stay 2 weeks but still we haven't planned where to go.

In May is my father in law turn, he's coming for 1 week and we are planning to go for 3 days to Cameron Highlands.

In June are coming my mother in law and Lesley for 2 weeks holiday and we must plan where to go with them, to Cameron highland for some cool hair or to Langkawi for some relaxing time on the beach!!

Lunch at Peter Hoe

Today I had lunch with my husband at "Peter Hoe Evolution" in Jln Tun H.S. Lee. The food was great: we had quiche tomato and chinese mushrooms and asparagus and tomatoes, with a big mix salad. For dessert we had the amazing apple cake, the best cake I had from month.

Also loved the shop, very nice things for the house.

Oggi sono andata a pranzo con mio marito da "Peter Hoe Evolution" in Jln Tun H. S. Lee. Il cibo era buonissimo: abbiamo preso 2 quiche, pomodori e funghi cinesi e pomodori e asparagi, accompagnate da un salatona mista. Per dessert abbiamo preso la buonissima torta di mela, la miglior torta che ho mangiato dopo mesi.

Mi e' piaciuta da morire anche il negozio dove ci sono tante cose carine per la casa.

We are back from our holiday in Italy. We had a great time with friends and family.

We visited Milano, Bologna and Firenze.

In Milano we visited the centre, the art exibition about Seurat and the Neoimpressionisti and also the "Last supper" by Leonardo Da Vinci.

In Bologna we spend time with Adele, Max and Silvana. We really enjoyed staying there and eating Max's great food and also the trattoria's food.

In Firenze we spend just a day but it was amazing, we visited the city,many churches and we also saw the newly restored "Madonna del cardellino " by Raffaello. Thanks to my father we went to the restaurant "Giubbe rosse" in piazza della Repubblica http://www.giubberosse.it for dinner and I must say we had the best meal ever: ribollita, fiorentina, fagioli all'uccelletto, chianti d.o.c.g., creme caramel and vin santo. All prepared by the chef Angelo Mazzi.

After Firenze we finally arrived to Sardinia on the 23rd where we spent Christmas and New Year with family and friends, most of the time we were eating or sitting near the fireplace.

We missed Poldo but instead in Sardinia we had the little and grumpy Kuala :-)

Another unforgettable holiday to add to our memories.

Siamo tornati a KL dalla nostra vacanza in Italia dove abbiamo visitato Milano, Bologna e Firenze.

A Milano abbiamo visitato il centro, la mostra su "Seurat e i Neoimpressionisti" e anche l'affresco de "L'ultima cena" di Leonardo Da Vinci nel refettorio di Santa Maria delle Grazie.

A Bologna abbiamo passato due giorni in compagnia di Adele e Max e abbiamo anche incontrato Silvana con la quale abbiamo fatto un ricco pranzo in una trattoria della citta'.

A Firenze abbiamo passato solo un giorno ma e' stato bellissimo, abbiamo visitato la citta', tante chiese e il dipinto appena restaurato " Madonna del cardellino" di Raffaello esposta nel palazzo Medici Rucellai. La sera siamo andati a cena grazie al suggerimento di mio padre al ristorante "Giubbe rosse" in piazza repubblica dove abbiamo avuto uno delle migliori cene: ribollita, fiorentina, fagioli all'uccelletto, creme caramel, chianti d.o.c.g., vin santo. Il tutto cucinato dallo chef Angelo Mazzi.

Dopo Firenze finalmente siamo arrivati in Sardegna, dove abbiamo passato il Natale e il capodanno in compagnia della famiglia e di amici. La maggior parte del tempo l'abbiamo speso mangiando e seduti vicino al camino.

Ci e' mancato Poldo, ma al suo posto in Sardegna c'era la piccola e scorbutica Kuala.
Un'altra indimenticabile vacanza da aggiungere alle nostri ricordi.

La prima parte del nostro viaggio si dividera' tra le principali e piu' famose citta' italiane. Cercheremo di guastare l'atmosfera Natalizia, inoltre Nigel non e' mai stato in nessuno di queste citta' quindi sara' un viaggio speciale per lui.
Andremo a Milano, Venezia, Bologna e Firenze.

Poldo has left this morning for his hotel :-(, he is going to stay there for 20 days till we are back in KL. We gonna miss him, but it's very good for him to have some fun with other dogs.

SHAMS AL DIN MUHAMMAD HAFIZ

Hâfez nacque a Shirâz nel 1325 circa e sembra abbia trascorso la maggior parte della sua vita in questa città presso la corte Mozaffaride. Ricevette un'educazione secondo i canoni tradizionali: studiò l'arabo, le scienze islamiche, la letteratura persiana e sin da giovane si guadagnò il titolo di "Hâfez", ovvero di "colui che recita a memoria il Corano". La sua maturità di poeta coincide con il regno di Shah Shojâ': durante questi anni la sua fama si diffuse in tutta la Persia, nel mondo arabo ed in India. Nonostante gli inviti ricevuti da parte di corti lontane, egli preferì rimanere presso i regnanti Mozaffaridi e di questi vide la sconfitta per mano di Timur. Morì a Shiraz nel 1390.

Hafiz is one of the world’s most beloved poets, he is affectionately known as the “Tongue of the Invisible” and the great Poet-Seer Ralph Waldo Emerson himself remarked that “Hafiz is a poet for poets.”
The poems of Hafiz have a beautiful and musical quality, which also embody a great spontaneity. In a myriad of poetic ways, Hafiz expresses the spiritual experiences of a mystic, in love with his Beloved. Yet he achieves this in a playful and enchanting way, like other Sufi poets, Hafiz weaves themes of ambiguity into his poems. Often he will use secular images such as wine, drunkenness and human love, however these are just symbols for the divine experiences which Hafiz is alluding to.

Hafiz was born in the beautiful city of Shiraz in Persia (now Iran ). As a young child he was called Shams –ud-din Mohammed. Hafiz proved to have a prodigious talent for literature. At an early age he successfully memorized the Qu’ran, and this is why he took the pen name of “Hafiz” – Hafiz means one who has memorized the entire Qu’ran by heart.

Iranian dinner/ Cena iraniana

Yesterday evening we went for dinner at some Iranian friends house. We had a really nice time. They cooked some traditional food, I can't remember the names of the dishes but everything was just delicious :-P and also they entertained us with some lovely traditional Iranian music, very melancholic.

We had a good time with them and I discovered a new culture and I think it is very close to the Italian one.

Ieri siamo stati a casa di amici iraniani per cena. Abbiamo passato una bella serata, hanno cucinato per noi dei piatti tradizionali, on mi ricordo i nomi dei piatti ma tutto era assolutamente delizioso :-P e inoltre ci hanno intrattenuto dopo cena con delle canzoni tradizionali iraniane, molto melanconiche.

Abbiamo passato davvero una bella serata, ho scoperto una nuova cultura, la quale e' molto simile a quella italiana.

Little Christmas tree

I made my Christmas tree , it's small and simple, but at least we can feel the Christamas atmosphear also here in the hot Malaysia.

We are doing our countdown to go to Italy for the holiday.....mmmh lots of food and I am going to take lots of photos to make my blog really tasty :-)

Ho fatto l'albero di Natle, e' piccolo ma almeno possiamo sentire l'atmosfera natalizia anche qui nella calda Malesia.

Stiamo facendo il conto alla rovescia alla partenza per l'Italia.... mmh ci aspettano tante delizie da mangiare e faro' tante foto per fare il mio blog piu' "saporito" :-)

Christmas present

Ho fatto questo piccolo lavoretto a punto e croce come regalo per una mia studente. Lei passera' il natale in Italia e ha chiesto ai suoi amici che passeranno le vacanze con lei di creare delle decorazioni per il suo albero, cosi' ho pensato di contribuire con un piccolo angioletto.

Art exhibition at Petronas Towers

Saturday afternoon I went to visit two exhibitons, one by Soraya Yusof Talismail, an artist- photographer, the title of the exhibition was "Imaging selfs" more than 100 images in black and white . She says “I deal with all sorts of people, and it is challenging to get my clients to like me and be comfortable with me. I love the arts because of its beauty, and the portraits because it cultivates personal relationships".

The second exhibition was by Amin Gulgee an international renowned sculptor from Pakistan. He has been exhibiting and working with metal sculptures from the purely abstract, drawing inspiration from Islamic calligraphy.

Film iraniani

Qualche sera fa grazie agli studenti di mio marito ho dato uno sguardo ai film iraniani, tra questi ce n'era uno che avevo gia' visto quando ero studentessa all'universita', si intitola "taste of cherry" di Abbas Kiarostami. Ovviamente e' molto diverso dai film italiani e europei ma e' molto profondo e ci e' piaciuto molto.

Few days ago thanks to my husband students I looked at the Iranian movies, between those I found one I watched many years ago, when I was a university student, the title is " Taste of cherry" by Abbas Kiarostami. It is very different from the Italian and European films but it is very deep and we really liked it

Un nuovo film invece che mi ha insegnato nuove cose e mi ha anche fatto ridere e piangere e' "Persepolis", questo e' tratto da un libro/fumetto di Marjane Sartrapi e per il film e' stato tenuto lo stile fumetto/cartone animato. Parla della vita di una bambina poi donna iraniana che per colpa della rivoluzione deve lasciare il proprio Paese e delle difficolta' e dei cambiamenti che avvengono in Iran.

Another new movie that has taught me new things and also made me laugh and cry is " Persepolis", this movie is from the comic of Marjane Sartrapi and for the film they kept the comic style. It is about the life of an Iranian girl and then women that has to leave her Country because of the revolution and shows the difficulties and the changes in Iran.

risotto ai funghi con zafferano iraniano

Ieri sera mio marito e' tornato a casa con un regalo da parte delle sue studentesse iraniane, due bellissimi piccoli contenitori in porcellana contenenti un profumatissimo zafferano che qui a Kuala Lumpur e' impossibile trovare, cosi' non ho potuto trattenermi e ho cucinato un buonissimo risotto ai funghi impreziosito dal giallo zafferano.

Last night my husband came back home with a present from his Iranian students, two beautiful ceramic pots with a fragrant saffron inside that you cannot find here in Kuala Lumpur so I couldn't wait and I made a nice mushroom risotto with the yellow saffron.

kung fu

Una sera abbiamo partecipato all'anniversario di insegnamento del maestro di kung fu di mio marito, e' stata una bellissima serata ed esperienza. Tutti erano cinesi e qualche malese e noi due con un altro uomo eravamo gli unici stranieri.

Mio marito si ' esibito sul palco e devo dire che sono fiera di lui e anche il suo maestro lo era. E' davvero bello vedere come il kung fu fa parte della cultura di queste persone, ho capito meglio che cosa significa per mio marito, ho capito la sua passione per questa arte marziale.

Vacanza in Cambodia

A Settembre sia stati in Cambodia a Siem Reap, e' stato un bellissimo viaggio, era il nostro secondo viaggio di nozze :-)

Abbiamo visitato tantissimi templi, bellissimi e ho capito perche' sono una delle meraviglie del mondo da proteggere.

Oltre ad andare tutte le mattine in giro con il tuk tuk per visitare i templi e il villaggio galleggiante, ci siamo anche rilassati leggendo i nostri libri sull'amaca sotto il banano o sulla terrazza respirando la brezza cambogiana.

Abbiamo incontrato tante persone, i cambogiani sono davvero ospitali e sorridenti, nonostante un passato doloroso non ancora dimenticato e che la presenza delle mine riporta nelle loro memorie in continuazione.

I bambini sono bellissimi e intelligenti. Ce ne sono tantissimi, ovunque, per lo piu' da soli o in gruppetti che ti vendono degli oggettini per "one dollar".

Non dimentichero' mai questo viaggio e spero di ritornarci un giorno.

p.s. abbiamo mangiato il serpente. Buono?.......cosi' cosi'

The wedding

28 giungo 2008 era il giorno del nostro matrimonio, il giorno piu' bello della nostra vita. Ci siamo divertiti tanto, tutto era perfetto. Noi che coronavamo il nostro sogno, gli amici , la famiglia , il cibo preparato da mio padre e altri chefs e la musica, indimenticabile.

Dobbiamo ringraziare mio padre Elia per aver cucinato tutto quel cibo e mia mamma, mie sorelle, Peppino e Tomasina per aver lavorato cosi' tanto per la realizzazione della giornata piu' bella in assoluto!

Grazie in particolare a Roberta per la LANCIA DELTA INTEGRALE, e' stato il regalo piu' inaspettato e che ha reso Nigel l'uomo piu' felice al mondo.

Il nostro Poldo

Quando ci siamo trasferiti in Malesia lavorava solo Nigel cosi' lui ha pensato che io avessi bisogno di compagnia, ma inoltre lui voleva piu' di me un cagnolino, cosi' nel Maggio 2007 e' arrivato Poldo, un daschund molto molto vivace ma che ci riempie le giornate di gioia.

Adesso Poldo ha 1 anno e mezzo, e' nato il 13 marzo 2007. La vita qui a Kl per lui non e' delle migliori, nel nostro condominio ci hanno vietato di portare Poldo fuori a passaggio alla luce del giorno, quindi potremmo portarlo solo alle 6 del mattino o alle 11 di sera.

Di solito quello che lo porta a spasso e' Nigel e lo fa la sera quando non c'e' piu' nessuno in giro.
A Poldo piace molto giocare con Nigel specialmente la sera mentre siamo sul divano che cerchiamo di guardare un film o di guardare la partita. Con me invece preferisce dormire e farsi coccolare.

Adora mangiare TUTTO!! Se fosse per lui mangerebbe in continuazione ma invece mangia 2 volte al giorno senza snack a parte qualche rara occasione.

E' il nostro cucciolo e non potremo mai fare a meno di lui ora.

Ci siamo incontrati 4 anni fa e da allora abbiamo inizato a dividere la nostra vita insieme e viaggiare per il mondo.

Dopo 6 mesi di convivenza a Londra siamo partiti per Tokyo dove abbiamo vissuto per 1anno e mezzo. E' stata un'esperienza indimenticabile sicuramente con momenti belli e brutti.

Dopo l'eccentrica Tokyo ci siamo trasferiti in Malesia dove viviamo attualmente. Qui non e' male, fa sempre caldo e umido, le persone sono molto amichevoli (anche troppo qualche volta) , e' un buon punto per viaggiare e visitare l'Asia e il cibo e' favoloso!!

Il 2008 e' stato un anno molto importante per noi, ci siamo sposati :-) e abbiamo raggiunto altri obbiettivi importanti.

Qui racconteremo la nostra semplice vita tenendo aggiornati i nostri cari e amici.

We met 4 years ago and since then we started to share our live together and travelling around the word.

After 6 months of living together in London we went to Tokyo where we lived for 1 year and an half. It has been an unforgetteble expirience with great moments and bad moments.

After the eccentric Tokyo we moved to Malaysia where we are currently living. Here isn't bad, it is always hot and humid, the people are friendly (sometimes too much) , it is a good place to discover Asia and the food is great!!

2008 has been a great year for us, we got married :-) and we achieve some importants goals.

Here we are going to tell our stories updating our families and friends.
